| | Torn between two emotions | I am currently dating an amazing man right now however I find it hard letting go of a past friendship. The funny thing is I notice in moments of unhappiness rather than think of calling my current boyfriend, I think about the guy from my past. The irony of this is that,this man loved me a great deal but there were issues that I just could not deal with in his life at that moment. Now I am going through similar issues in my life which I have no control over, and I feel ashamed about how I spoke to him and treated him. I called him once to ask for forgivenss in which he accepted but now I"m so confused because whenever I am unhappy I think about him more. Its really beginning to bother me because I am with this absolutely amazing man but think about this other guy( in terms of sharing my problems with). I dont want to hurt either parties especially because I have hurt the guy in my past too many times. I cherish the friendship I had with my friend but because I am in this new relationship to protect both parties I have stopped all communications with the guy in my past. Its been a struggle for me but I just dont know what this feeling I have for my friend is. I also can't stand him being with another woman but then I am with another man which sounds so selfish. Now my dilema: Is it a feeling of wanting someone you can't have or wanting someone you wished you had given a chance? Or is it just the rants of a confused woman?

It's called distraction, just get rid of those feelings fast before they do any more damage because unbeknownst of you, you are actually undermining your current relationship and sooner than later, you will begin to voice those insecurities and open the door to some serious problems. You let him go because you couldn't have him. You made the right decision. Let him stay in your past, if I were you I would cut off all communication with him for good, the heart of man is treacherous especially women, we are way too vulnerable. Be careful! |
